หลักสี่ มีดีอะไร? Why Laksi is a cool place?
Have you been to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand? Many of you have, I suppose. Maybe some of you have been to Laksi District and don’t even know that you have already been there. I can give you a hint; it’s on the way to Don Muang International Airport, north of Bangkok.
What’s so cool about Laksi District in Bangkok, Thailand? FYI: Bangkok is subdivided into 50 districts, and Laksi is one of those fifty districts making up of the metropolis.

Main Attractions of Laksi District
1. Rooftop Farming at Laksi District Office
This is one of the highlights of Laksi District – a rooftop veggie garden. The idea is to go green, promoting sustainable lifestyle of people living in big cities. As we know, the land is limited, so one solution is to come up with a way to deal with this limitation. On the rooftop, we can grow many kinds of vegetables such as morning glory, basils, and lemongrass and other herbs.
2. Cultural Events
Many cultural events are held in the district. This includes this one -the merit-making along Prem Prachakorn canal.
The Lak Si District Office annually holds a traditional procession of donating basic necessities to monks. The profession is done along Klong Prem Prachakorn canal.

In addition to supporting the Buddhist monks, the event is organized in order to preserve and inherit the good traditions and culture of Thailand. Moreover, it is held to create awareness among the local residents and Thai people to realize the value of the importance of rivers and canals.
The majority of the population in Laksi are Buddhists. Every year, they organize a Krathin ceremony offering robes and other necessities to the Buddhist monks in many temples in the neighborhood.
The Kathin Ceremony is, in fact, a merit-making activity. People get together presenting Kathin robes to monks. They make merit by honouring and supporting Buddhism.
3. The Government Complex
More importantly, Laksi is a few lucky districts in Bangkok, because it is the district where the Thai government decided to build the administrative complex. This is significant. The name of the complex is this — ‘ The Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary 5th December, B.E. 2550 (AD 2007)’.
The Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary,5th December , B.E. 2550(2007) is located in the state property land on Chaengwattana Road, Laksi, Bangkok about 349 hectares with the building area of the project approximately 929,800 square meters.
The Government Complex encompasses three zones.
Zone A — Approximately 100 acres on the North Chaengwattana road, which is allocated as the justice agencies.
Zone B — Approximately 197 acres on the South, which will be the location of other 23 agencies.
Zone C — Approximately 81 acres in the East as an area for expansion and as for the leisure of the project.
4. สถานีรถไฟหลักสี่ (Laksi Railway Station)
สถานีรถไฟหลักสี่ ตั้งอยู่ที่แขวงตลาดบางเขน เขตหลักสี่ กรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นสถานีรถไฟชั้น 1 ของทางรถไฟย่านชานเมือง
from the station, you can travel to the central region of Thailand, the northern region, and the northeastern one. You can go to Lopburi province, Chiangmai, and Ubon Ratchthani too.
